Reimagining creativity from the ground up, we developed a marketing campaign for American Idol, weaving together user-submitted footage into a seamless and inspiring story with the season’s signature line “You don’t know me…yet”. This backward process—working with what we had rather than starting from scratch—was a masterclass in adaptability and imagination, proving that great storytelling can come from anywhere.

On American Idol, we faced a unique challenge: crafting a full campaign line and marketing content using pre-recorded, user-submitted footage as the starting point. This “reverse-engineered” approach required us to think creatively, transforming raw, diverse clips into a cohesive narrative that celebrated the talent and individuality of aspiring contestants. By building a campaign around the authenticity and passion in these submissions, and the character-arcs they eventually create, we turned user-generated content into a compelling, polished showcase for the show’s community-driven spirit.
